Paul is the latest member of the Bliss and Thompson Financial Services team and has been serving the financial needs of individuals and small businesses for almost 25 years. He is a Certified Public Accountant with an active CPA practice providing integrated tax preparation, tax planning and business consulting services to individuals and small business owners. Paul brings his knowledge and experience in these areas to further develop and maintain the relationship of our financial clients and will focus on helping our clients address the many questions and options they have regarding their future with his in depth know.
Paul is a licensed Financial Advisor who has earned his Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses. Paul also provides life and long-term care insurance along with annuity products to support the financial goals and objectives of our clients.
Paul is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and East Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business of Business Administration in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) with additional section memberships in the Tax, Personal Financial Planning (PFP) and Private Company Practice Section (PCPS) of the association. He is also a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Paul and his wife Jane have two children, Paige and Collin, who are attending Western Michigan University and Grand Valley State University, respectively. The Smallwood’s have been residents of Traverse City for the past 25 years and are actively involved in the community.
